Earth Adventure

Earth Adventure, through a networking opportunity, is conducting a range of activities and services in the South Coast region that will be based at Hindmarsh Island. The services are to serve local residents with fitness and recreational services and for people that are on holiday at the Marina.

The range of services that will be provided throughout the state:
• River and sea kayaking days and extended tours
• High ropes courses; Rock climbing & abseiling intro and advanced
• Pathfinder walking programs and extended walking tours
• Surfing sessions and surfing tours
• Wind surfing
• School holiday adventure programs

SCHEDULE:

The Tour and hire service operates from October - end of April.
The hire service is available twice a day on weekends only at this stage.
A schedule is available for the half day, full day and extended tours. This service will vary regarding the days of the week that it will be offered. If you have a group that meets the minimum numbers we can offer an alternative date to this schedule. .
Payment is required prior to the program.

BOOKINGS & PAYMENTS:

Pre booking is required for equipment hire and any of the tours.
Payment can be made through the Marina Office or by calling Earth Adventure and paying over the phone.
You will be required to pay for the service at the time of booking.
It is expected that you will check weather conditions and reports yourself to know if the service is able to operate.
When booking, you will also be required to complete forms for hire conditions and waivers.
Prices are GST inclusive.
If paying by credit card there may be a surcharge added to the price for the banking fee.
A bond will be taken for all equipment hire which will be refunded if equipment is returned undamaged.

EQUIPMENT HIRE TIMES:

Pre booking is required for kayak hiring and any of the tours. The hire service operates in two separate blocks. If you require the kayak for less time the charge remains the same. You will need to return the kayak to the TMHI office if returning the kayaks early. Times are listed in the services sections with pricing.

MEETING PLACE:

The kayak hire will occur at the boat ramp inside the Marina. This is at the rear of the Marina Office. Other equipment will be available nearby.

GROUP NUMBERS:

For the kayak hire service we will have a maximum of 8 single kayaks and 1 double kayak available for hire.
For tours: the groups are kept within recognised leader/participant ratios to maximise your safety & enjoyment, while minimising our impact on the areas visited. We work in a ratio of 1 leader to 6 participants.

TRANSPORT:

Transport to the starting point for any of the services is organised by you and at your own responsibility.

CANCELLATIONS OR CHANGE OF VENUE:

If you cancel your booking 2 weeks prior to the service date you will be refunded the full amount.
If you cancel your booking within two weeks of the service day you will not receive a refund.
If the service is cancelled due to weather we will rebook you into another time slot on the schedule.
If you are unable to take that time slot then we will provide a refund.
We will provide services in a modified capacity when winds are above 11 knots / 20kmh
We will not be operating any services on days where the winds are above 22knots / 39kmh.
We will not operate services when there is a thunderstorm predicted at the time of session and/or there is lightening near by.

SAFETY:

For the tour services you will be required to complete a Medical History and Acknowledgement of Risk forms before the event. For the hire service you will only need to complete the Acknowledgement of Risk form.
You are expected to follow all instructions regarding use of equipment and directions for travel.
All safety equipment must be used when involved in the service.
No alcohol or drugs are tolerated with any of our services.

CHILDREN:

When hiring equipment; children must be over the age of 10 and accompanied by an adult.
The tour services are only suitable for people over the age of 14 due to the physical demands of the activity. You may organise a group booking for a younger group.
School holiday program activities are suitable for Year 5 to Year 12.

FOOD and DRINKS:

Currently for the hiring and day services provided you will need to bring appropriate food and water for each of the services. The extended tours will have all meals provided.
